Meeting called to order at: 6:40 Pm
President Judy Huestis in attendance, Treasurer Pat Lahey and Vice President Mari Wells unavailable.
Minutes: Betty motioned to accept the minutes from the October monthly meeting as submitted and was unaminously approved.
The Treasurer's report was deferred to December's meeting.
-Membership drive: there were 112 members last year.
-Judy will generate the Chamber Membership letter and we will be labeling and mailing in December.
-Hwy 49 Irrigation update/Trail grant-Mari and Kary deferred. Kary Danielson unavailable.
-Looking for Gateway comittee lead someone to over see and connect with DOT,Cal Trans,Design People,Land Owners- No lead person to date.
-Betty gave us a report on Gold Rush Live 2007 Marshall Gold State Historic Park event. It was bigger and better the Re-enactment of Tent City and the Gold Rush days, was well attended. The focus was on Children participation, Families, Cabins, Cooking, Crafts and more. Betty volunteered to follow up on events re: the State Historic Park and GDPA activities to keep us connected. Janice said more food concessions were needed and Teal wants to be a part of the Gold Rush Live 2008.
-Jingle Bell Jubilee-Mari Wells not present to overseee this event this year see you next year.
-Teal reported getting Apple Cider donated from Barsotti and The Animal Outreach would bring out an adoption table and more for the Jingle bell event.This year we will have only a Community Tree Lighting on Saturday December 8th. Meet at the American River Conservancy at 5:30 and light the tree at 6:pm Join us for caroling,apple cider, and hot chocolate.
-American River Music Festival donation to the Chamber. Judy spoke to Matt Semonsen no money from the event will be received from the Music Festival 2007.Thank you Beer Booth Volunteers for serving beer at the American Music Festival Rain or Shine.
-Howard explained to attendees the 501 C-6 set-up/status highlighting numerous options. Judy suggested having Laurel Bumb president of the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce at our December meeting to uncover or offer up suggestions mostly what options work in her orgainization and why.
-Marketing question on the floor. If we invest and connect to the El Dorado county Chamber and become a Chapter to EDCC will the be affected?
-2008 Membership drive needs a lead person, John Tillman will be on hand to pass his skills and experience to the volunteers/Membership committe and the Lead Person.
-A motion was made to budget $4,000.00 for Website maintenance, labor cost, and updates. It was seconded & approved Judy added pending Treasurer's approval.
-Nominations for 2008 officers are: Position of President, Majorie Sanborn, Position of Vice President,Sara Schwartz Kendall, Position the Secretary, Robert Dalton, Treasurer Position no applicants (Present Tresurer Pat Lahey)
-no other applicants came forward all postions' nominations are invited.
-Our Election Business/Potluck Meeting will be December 11, 6:00Pm @ the Coloma Country Inn. Host and Hostess Craig and Marjorie Sanborn
